Japanese Language Classes [日本語教室]

Hakodate City will be offering Japanese language classes for people wishing to study Japanese.

You may apply at any time.The classes will open on May 9, 2024.

Who can apply?

• The class is intended for non-native speakers who wish to learn Japanese.
• It is open to anyone free of charge and there is no age limit for participation.

Courses:

There are three courses to choose from:

 

○Beginners’ course:　 For beginners or those who have learning experience of less than 50 hours. 

                              　The maximum number of students in this class is 15.

In this course you will:

1. Study basic conversational Japanese.
2. Build listening ability to understand simple Japanese.
3. Learn to read and write Hiragana and Katakana. writing
4. Study the basics of Kanji.

○Primary course:　 For those who have Japanese learning experience of more than 50 hours.
                         The maximum number of students in this class is 25.

In this course you will: 

1. Study advanced conversational Japanese.
2. Learn to comprehend Japanese spoken at normal speeds.
3. Study more Kanji with the aim to read and write mixed writings of Kanji with Kana.

○Introductory Reading & Writing course:　For those who already have conversational Japanese skills
　                                                       but want to strengthen their reading and writing skills.
                                                         The maximum number of students in this class is 15.
　In this course you will:

1. Practice reading common books, newspapers, documents, etc.
2. Study correct grammar using kanji.

●Monday   18:45~20:00 Beginner's course

●Monday   18:45~20:00  Primary course1

●Thursday   9:45~11:00  Reading&writing

●Thursday  11:15~12:30  Biginner's course

●Thursday   11:15~12:30  Primary course1

●Thursday  18:45~20:00  Primary  course2

●Sunday    10:30~11:45  Primary course1

 

Place:

Hakodate Youth Center 27-5 Chiyogadai-cho

1 minute walk from “Chiyogadai" stop (streetcar, bus) or 10 minute walk from the Goryokaku intersection.

Teachers:

Members of Japanese Teaching Society(JTS) will give lessons.

The President of this association is Ms. Katsuko Takahashi.
